TC’s Lundy invited to play in senior girls all-star basketball game April 2

THORNBURG-Tri-County’s stellar senior forward/center Michalea Lundy was recently invited to play in the Larry Niemeyer Senior Girls’ Basketball All-Star Game to be held on Sunday, April 2 at Kirkwood Community College.

“When I received the envelope with the invite I didn’t know what to think at first, then after opening it and seeing what it was I was honored and frankly surprised.” Said Lundy regarding her invitation to play in the Larry Niemeyer All-Star game for senior girls basketball players.

Girls from all over the state will be attending this event, which again is by invitation only, and annually is considered a gathering of the area’s best local senior talent. Schools from all classes in Iowa will be represented, thus making Lundy’s invitation to play all the more an honor.

“This will be a great opportunity to showcase my talent.” Said Lundy, “ I’m very excited.” Lundy should be excited, as there will be plenty of college scouts on-hand. The girls will meet and have a practice on Saturday, April 1 to get some plays down and split up into teams for the game. Each class has a set practice time, and tip-off time on Sunday.
