Wins over Belle Plaine and HLV last week helped bump the Tri-County baseball team’s conference mark to 8-7, which put them in fifth place.
Monday’s ten-inning, 5-2 win at Belle Plaine was highlighted by a nine-inning, 11 strikeout performance by starting pitcher Tyler Lally. Lally was relieved by Brumbaugh after the Trojans pushed across three runs in the top of the tenth to take a 5-2 lead. Brumbaugh allowed one hit but struck out two and got the save.
At the plate, Brumbaugh finished two-for-four with a double, a triple and a walk. As a team the Trojans recorded six hits, with Zach Kitzman, Trenton Steinke, Austin Blythe and Jacob Bombei each reaching with singles.
