The Tri-County track and field squads aren’t where they want to be yet, performance wise, but they’re getting there.

Both the TC boys’ and girls’ teams competed in two meets last week, starting with the EV Invitational in North English on Tuesday.

TC’s girls outperformed its boys in the team standings, but the TC boys still amassed some fantastic results of their own. Highlighting the day for the Trojan boys was a gold medal in the discus by Jake Brumbaugh. Brumbaugh, a junior, tossed his best distance of the season with a mark of 112’ to take first place at EV. TC’s Kyle Leer came in fifth with a throw of 97’4’’. Nick Watts placed fifth in the high jump with a mark of 5’2’’, while Dalton Ehret earned fifth in the long jump with a distance of 15’ 11’’.
