West Liberty Hosts Bears in Co-Ed

The English Valleys’ track squads each had relatively short weeks due in part to both a light meet schedule and wet weather early in the week.

Bronson McCulley’s boys’ team was scheduled to run and throw at Eddyville last Tuesday but that was rained out, leaving only one night of competition for the EV boys.

The Bears joined the likes of Lisbon, Columbus and HLV in West Liberty last Friday and wound up finishing in eighth-place out of nine teams.

Most of EV’s individual success came in the field events, with Kellan-Horras Coppinger coming through with good results in the jumps, while Luke Jackson threw well in the shot put. With a mark of 5’2’’, Horras-Coppinger finished fifth in the high jump, while his distance of 16’9.5’’ got him seventh in the long jump.
