Winter SHS Spirit Week

The Sigourney Jr/Sr High school will be hosting a Winter Spirit Week from the 21st of January to the 31st. This is to celebrate all of the clubs we have in our school. On the week of January 27th through the 31st we will be having dress up days and activities for the student body and each club is required to come up with.

Monday: Band club/Class - Dress like a Bando

Tuesday: FFA Club - Wear official dress, FFA colors, or dress like Driscoll

Wednesday: FCCLA Club - Wear a crazy apron 

Thursday: Drama club - Dress like Peter Pan 

Friday: Spirit Day - Dress in Spirit

Each of the senior girls who were not nominated for homecoming court but are currently participating in a club are eligible to become the Queen of Clubs. The student body will be voting for the Queen on Wednesday the 23rd, and she will be crowned at the basketball game on Friday, January 24. 

The students have also been asked to participate in the “Fight Song Challenge.” In this contest, groups of students have to come up with different ways to present our school’s fight song.

We will be having a silent auction on January 31st at the basketball game vs. Keota. Each of the clubs in our school have donated baskets to be auctioned off. We will also be having a live auction on February 1st at the basketball game with Pekin. Some items available at the auction include  an old fashioned Pepsi machine, a load of rock, a meat bundle and a Riverside Casino package.
