Athlete of the Week:Luke Moore

The athlete of the week for the week of February 5 is Luke Moore of the EV/TC boys’ wrestling team.

Moore secured his spot in the 2024 state wrestling meet by winning the 215 weight class at the district tournament in Pleasantville.

After receiving a bye in the first round, Moore pinned Chance Angle of North Mahaska to secure his spot in the championship match.

In the championship, Moore secured the only points of the match in the second period with a reversal. He secured the 1-0 decision over Quintyn Rocha of West Branch to secure his trip to Des Moines for the 2024 IHSAA Boys’ State Wrestling Meet.
