Athlete of the Week:Reanah Utterback

The athlete of the week for the week of January 29 is none other than Sigourney’s Reanah Utterback. 

Utterback’s week began in Coralville on February 1. In the three matches she wrestled in, Utterback pinned all three opponents in the first round. She kept the momentum in the semifinals on February 2 with another first round pin. 

Of the five pins Utterback secured en route to the 115 championship, the only one not in the first period came in the championship match. Utterback breezed her way to a 12-0 lead in the championship before finally securing the pin with 53 seconds left in the third period. 

Not only did Utterback pin her way to victory, not a single opponent she faced tallied a point on her at the state meet.
