English Valleys Vaults to Victory over Keota in Second Half

NORTH ENGLISH—On February 9, familiar foes faced off in the English Valleys gym, as the Bears hosted the Eagles for the first round of the IGHSAU Class 1A-Region 8 bracket. 

The first half was a hard fought back and forth battle that resulted in a one point English Valleys lead at 24-23.

The third quarter was all English Valleys, as they out-scored the Eagles 15-5. All the momentum kept in the Bears favor, as they pushed to a 50-37 victory over the Eagles.

Senior center Kennedy Axmear once again led the charge in scoring, as she had a team high 20 points. Fellow senior Imigyn Stratton also hit the double digit mark with 12 points. 

Freshman Addison Achenbach played the main facilitator for the Bears with six assists.

The Bears advance to the second round of the IGHSAU Class 1A-Region 8 bracket, and will visit the Holy-Trinity Catholic Crusaders on February 13.
