Lois Greiner

1937-2021

KEOTA-Lois J. (Michel) Greiner was born on July 27, 1937.  She was married to the love of her life, Denny, for 61 years.  Lois’ first occupation was as a Kindergarten Teacher.  She loved this job and often met her prior students in Sigourney and was proud to say, “I taught him/her.”  Throughout her life she enjoyed helping out with the farm.  She and Denny were instrumental in bringing C.O.R. to the Keota area.  She liked working on projects with her children, working at the Keota Drugstore, Earthly Blessings, Duwa Auction Service and so much more.  Most of all Lois enjoyed loving and supporting her family and friends.  Lois had four children: Lisa, married to Jim Cavin, deceased; Becky, married to Blake Wilson; Nancy, married to James Wilson; and Dean. She had 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Lois passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospital on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021.  She is at rest and at peace once more with the love of her life.

Funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, with Revs. Robert Lathrop, Nick Adam and Tom Spiegel officiating.  The service was livestreamed on the Powell Funeral Home facebook page.  Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries - St. Mary's Cemetery in Keota.  Visitation was from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, at the church, where there was a vigil service and rosary at 7 p.m.
