English Valleys-Tri-County:

Boys:

The English Valleys Boys visited Montezuma high school for a quad with the Montezuma Braves and the Lynnville-Sully Hawks.

EV/TC:60, Montezuma: 24

In their first matchup, English Valleys-Tri-County matched up against the Montezuma Braves. Kaleb Bollinger (220) was the only EV/TC wrestler to secure a pin, as he took down his Montezuma opponent in 1:42. 

EV/TC: 48, Lynnville-Sully:33

In their second matchup. The English Valleys-Tri-County team faced the Lynnville-Sully Hawks. Deshon Anderson (132) secured the lone pin for the EV/TC team, when he took down his Lynnville-Sully opposition in 1:36.

Girls:On January 21, the English Valleys-Tri-County girls wrestling team participated in the Louisa-Muscatine tournament. Anna Gorsh (125) and Stacia Linder (140) were able to secure third place for the EV-TC team.

Anna Gorsh commenced her tournament with a loss to her Wilton opponent. She bounced back by securing wins in her next three matches to secure third place in the 125 weight class.

Stacia Linder’s tournament commenced with an overtime win of 11-9 over her Clinton opposition. She lost her next matchup to her West Liberty opponent.  She bounced back in her third matchup by pinning her Bettendorf opponent in 3:38. In her final matchup, Linder fell to Pekin's Hailey Pedrick in 1:25.

Boys:

Riverside—The Pekin Panthers boys wrestling team traveled to Highland high school on January 19 for a quad with the Waco Warriors, the Highland Huskies and the New London Tigers. 

Pekin: 12, WACO: 51

In their matchup against the WACO Warriors, the Panthers had one wrestler secure a pin: Gavyn Brown. In the 170 weight class, Brown secured his pin over his WACO counterpart in 1:26.

Pekin:12, Highland: 34

In their matchup against the Highland Huskies, Gavyn Brown was once again the only Panther to secure a pin. Brown pinned his Highland opponent in 2:48.

Pekin:12, New London: 36

In their final matchup, the Panthers faced the New London Tigers. Gannon Greiner was the only Panther able to secure a pin, as he took down his New London opposition in an astounding 21 seconds.

Girls:

Pekin:0, Highland: 12

In their matchup against the Highland Huskies, the Panthers only had two wrestlers participating in the match. Lexa Nelson lost her matchup in the 115 weight class via pin in 1:51. Payten Coleman fell to her Highland opponent via pin in 1:03. 

Pekin:0, WACO: 11

In their second matchup, the Panthers faced the WACO Warriors. Lexa Nelson lost a 18-2 technical fall in her matchup. Payten Coleman lost to her opposition via pin in 5:02.

On January 21, the Pekin girls wrestling team participated in the Louisa-Muscatine invitational.

Hailey Pedrick secured third place in the 140 weight class, while Lila Miller won the 135 bracket. 

Pedrick started her tournament off by pinning her Bettendorf opponent in 2:41. Pedrick fell in her second matchup, but bounced back in the third to secure a spot in the third place match. Pedrick secured third place when she pinned Stacia Linder of EV-TC in 1:25. 

Lila Miller went through all four of her matchups unblemished. She secured pins in all four of her matches en route to securing first place in the 135 weight class.
