Panthers Hold off Pesky Huskies

1-4-2014 Pekin 45, Highland, Riverside 43

Highland, Riverside just wouldn’t go away. The Pekin girls led a solid Highland team by double digits for much of the third and fourth quarter, but came under siege in the last five minutes of the game.

With their backs against the wall, the Huskies starting pressing Pekin relentlessly, trying to claw their way back into the game in the fourth quarter. The Huskies forced a number of Pekin turnovers and used a 20-point performance by Cheyanne Adamson to cut their deficit to six, four and eventually two.
