Pekin Track Teams Take Part in Dennis Anderson Relays

BLOOMFIELD—On April 14, the Pekin Panthers boys and girls track teams traveled to Davis County high school for a CO-ED track meet. The Panthers girls finished in second place with an aggregate score of 150, while the boys placed fourth with an aggregate score of 72. 

Girls:

For the team events, the Panthers placed third in the 4x200 meter relay with a final time of 2:05.61. The 4x200 team consists of Lauren Conklin, Lilly Reneker, Claire Roth and Sabrina Reneker. 

In the 4x400 meter relay, the Panthers finished in second place with a final time of 4:24.68. The 4x400 team is made up of Chloe Glosser, Sabrina Reneker, Claire Roth and Audrey Fariss. 

The Panthers took home the gold in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 10:39.26 and the distance medley with a time 4:39.14. The 4x800 team is made up of Chloe Glosser, Brooke Miller, Alex Parsons and Audrey Fariss.

Lastly for the team events, the Panthers placed second in the 4x100 meter shuttle hurdles with a time of 1:17.80. The 4x100 meter shuttle hurdle team consists of Renae Eubanks, Payten Coleman, Kayse Miller and Abby Guise. 

For the individual events, Renae Eubanks placed fourth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 19.02 and the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:24.18.

Claire Roth took home the silver in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.46, and also placed second in the long jump with a longest jump recorded at 15-10.00.

Lauren Steigleder finished in first in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:32.64. Steigleder also placed second in the 3000 meter run with a final time of 12:29.58.

In the 1500 meter run, Brooke Miller and Chloe Glosser finished back to back. Miller secured second place with a time of 5:37.23, while Glosser finished in third with a time of 5:37.26.

Kayse Miller took home the bronze in the high jump event with a highest jump recorded at 4-08.00.

Anna Hadley placed first in both the discus and shot put events. Hadley threw the shot put a recorded distance of 37-00.00, while hurling the discus a recorded length of 120-01. 

Emma Phillips placed fourth in the shot put event with a longest throw of 30-01.00, and finished in third in the discus event with a longest throw recorded at 100-04. 

The Pekin girls track team will return to action on April 18, when they participate in the Panther relays at Mount Pleasant high school.

Boys:

For the boys team events, the Panthers placed second in the distance medley with a time of 4:02.19. The Panthers distance medley team is made up of Sven Dahlstrom, Carson Comstock, Robert Brown and Cole Millikin.

The Panthers also took home the silver in the 4x110 meter shuttle hurdles with a time of 1:07.29. The 4x110 team is made up of Will Adam, Robert Brown, Kyler Dickey and Jaedon Wolver. 

In the individual events, Brady McWhirter took home the gold in the 800 meter run and the 1600 meter run. McWhirter finished the 800 meter run in 2:06.78, and wrapped up the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:54.19. McWhirter also placed third in the 3200 meter run with a final time of 12:10.45. 

Jaedon Wolver finished the 400 meter hurdles race in second with a final time of 56.97. Wolver also finished in fourth in the 100 meter dash with a final time of 12.04, and placed fourth in the high jump with a high jump recorded at J5-10.00.

In the 200 meter dash, Sven Dahlstrom placed sixth with a time of 24.88. 

Lastly for the individual events, Will Adam finished in sixth place in the long jump event with a longest jump recorded at 17-09.00.

The Panthers boys track team will return to action on April 17, when they host a meet.
