Ronald D. Yoder

1948-2022

Ronald D. Yoder, age 73 of Mound, Minnesota, formerly of Sigourney, Iowa, passed away following a brief but courageous battle with cancer on June 7, 2022. 

Ron was born on September 1, 1948, in Newton, Kansas, to Curtis J. and Hazel Beck Yoder.  He married Anita J. Berg September 2, 1978, in Sigourney, Iowa.

Ron graduated from Hesston College in Hesston, Kansas in 1976, and then relocated to Sigourney, Iowa. He owned and operated a water conditioning business, before joining Pella Corporation where he retired in 2015. Ron was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan, loved fishing, and was an avid reader.  

Surviving is his wife Anita of Mound, Minnesota; children Nikole (Chris) Mandy of Orono, Minnesota and Chris of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; three granddaughters Grace, Ella & Libby Mandy of Orono, Minnesota; two sisters, Deanna (Greg) Yutzy of Newton, Kansas and Melinda (Darryl) Baedke of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two sisters-in-law, Kathy (Dave) McNabb of Williamsburg, Iowa and Sara Miller of Iowa City, Iowa; one brother-in-law, Ed (Becky) Berg of Sigourney, Iowa; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his beloved dog Peggy.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws Jerry & Kathryn Berg; and brother-in-law Jay Miller.  

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Mound, Minnesota, with Fr. Peter Richards officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.  Burial will be held at a later date.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ron’s name to American Cancer Society or Safe Haven of Iowa County.
