SIGOURNEY—The SK Soccer team held their home opener on April 9 against the #6 ranked Hillcrest Academy Ravens. The Ravens played spoiler, and defeated the SK soccer team by a final score of 10-0.

The Ravens struck early with a goal in the first five minutes of play. They did not waver, and fought hard for the next 24 minutes. The SK soccer team’s best chance at a goal came in this period with a header from freshman Aidyn Galindo that was saved miraculously by the head of a Hillcrest defender.

The 12 minute mark of the first half marked a disastrous time for the SK soccer team. They gave up five goals in that time, and quickly found themselves in a 6-0 deficit heading into the break.

The second half was all Ravens, as they added four more goals en route to the 10-0 victory.

The SK soccer team continues on their homestand, as they will host the Highland Huskies on April 12.
