Terry L. Morris, 69

Malcom–Terry L. Morris, age 69, of Malcom, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Montezuma Specialty Care, Montezuma.  A graveside memorial service with inurnment will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 22, 2023, at Ivy Hill Cemetery, Malcom.  The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn.  Memorials may be contributed in Terry’s name to the Malcom Fire Department, or to the family for a memorial fund for Terry’s grandchildren.  Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Terry is survived by his wife Phyllis; two children, Justin (Kourtney) Morris, of Grinnell and Stephanie (Greg) Beatty, of Montezuma; three grandchildren, Ava and Maci Morris and Beau Beatty; a brother-in-law Larry Webber; and several cousins and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Connie Weber.  

 

Terry Lee Morris was born December 10, 1954, in Fort Dodge, the son of Fred and Bernita (Tipton) Morris.  He graduated from Sigourney High School with the class of 1973.  Terry was united in marriage to Phyllis Ann McDonald on July 31, 1982, in Brooklyn. Throughout the years, Terry worked at Grinnell Mutual, Donaldson Manufacturing and Universal Gym Equipment.  He was a member of the Malcom Fire Department for over 30 years.  Terry enjoyed going hunting and fishing, working with wood, camping and riding motorcycles.  He also enjoyed traveling and attending Rendezvous in Prairie Du Chien, WI.  Most of all, Terry loved and cherished his children and grandchildren and the time spent with them.
