Trojans & Savages Square Off in Sigourney

Coming off a pair of losses the weekend before made last week an especially important one for the Sigourney varsity volleyball team. The Savages dropped to 4-4 after losses to Grinnell and Pella Christian, but had an opportunity for a big win last Monday on the road at BGM.

Chris Carter’s Savages won the first set at BGM, 25-20, but fell in the second set by a score of 25-19. The drama-filled third set needed extra points to decide its winner, ultimately going the way of the Savages, 26-24. The Bears apparently used up all their energy in the third set, because Sigourney was absolutely dominant, finishing off BGM by a count of 25-12 to take the match.
