Sigourney seeks interim mayor after Hollingsworth death

About two weeks after the death of Sigourney’s mayor, Terry Hollingsworth, the Sigourney City Council will decide how to go about replacing him.

During the regular meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 6, the city council is expected to decide whether to commence searching for someone to appoint to an interim position, which must be done within 60 days, or to hold a special election. The interim mayor would serve until the next election is held.
