Patricia F. Reynolds

Patricia F. Reynolds, beloved wife, mother, nanna, sister, aunt, and friend was called home to her Lord on April 27, 2024.

Patricia was born May 4, 1938, in Sigourney, Iowa to Henry and Florence (Amlong) Stein. She graduated in 1956 from Sigourney High School where she participated in band and orchestra, and was the marching band majorette. After graduation Patricia moved to Cedar Rapids and worked as a secretary at Highway Equipment and Kilborne Photo. Patricia also worked as a caregiver and companion at Brucemore Mansion. In 1956 Patricia married Harlan S. Cranston and had three children: Bryan Cranston, Deborah Hamersley and Mark Cranston. Upon his death in 1962, Patricia and the children returned to Sigourney. On May 25, 1963, she married James A. Reynolds and added two more children to their family; Holly (Bill) Ockelmann and Heather (Jeff Southard) Hull.

While raising a family and running a business with James, Patricia worked at Blackie’s Food Store and Louis Rich. She enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and delivering meals and treats (Rice Krispie bears and rum cake were always fan favorites) to all her family and friends.

She was very involved in her children’s lives throughout the years and loved being a room mother, girl and boy scout leader, Sunday School teacher, as well as attending their activities. Patricia was a member of the Sigourney Christian Church.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, James A. Reynolds of Sigourney; five children; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister Marjorie (Earl) Jones and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, late husband Harlan Cranston, siblings Clayborn Stein, Roberta (Linder), Gaylord Stein, Kenneth Stein, Jenette (Graff), Geneva (Winn), Junior Stein, Stanley Stein, and son-in-law Bruce Hamersley.

A visitation will be held on May 3, 2024, at the Sigourney Christian Church at 1:00 p.m. with the family present from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on May 4, 2024, at the Sigourney Christian Church at 10:00 a.m., followed by concluding services and burial at Pennington Cemetery in Sigourney, Iowa. There will be a luncheon at the church after the burial service.

Donations may be given in honor of Patricia to the Sigourney Christian Church or the Essence of Life Hospice of Keokuk County Iowa. Donations can be sent to James A. Reynolds, 21617 200th Ave, Sigourney, Iowa 52591.
